- General medical examinations with a doctor (general practitioner)
- Information on your right to healthcare
- Information about local hospitals and healthcare services
The doctor (general practitioner) can refer you for specialized medical services, including:
- Examinations with specialists (gynecologist, pediatrician, diabetologist, urologist, gastroenterologist, otorhinolaryngologist, orthopedist, nephrologist, dermatologist, cardiologist, dietician, etc.)
- Medical services for women (provided by women doctors)
- Medical tests, including echography, electrocardiogram (EKG), pap-test, small outpatient surgery
- Blood and urine tests, as well as radiography (for people who do not have the 'tessera sanitaria')
Additional Information
You do not need an appointment to see the general practitioner.
It is best to come early. The medical team can see a limited number of patients each day.
If you need specialized medical examinations, the general practitioner will write you a referral. The secretary will help you make the appointment.
You do not need a referral to see the gynecologist. Call to make an appointment.
